Korea's Olympic team qualified for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship 2024 with a resounding victory in their final match. After utilizing the flanks throughout the qualifiers to rattle the opposition's net, Hwang Sun-hong had the last laugh.

The Olympic team, led by Hwang Sun-hong, won their third Group B match of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers 3-0 against the Myanmar U-23 team at the Changwon Football Center at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Despite the first-leg loss to Qatar, the hosts will not be counted in this qualifier. After earning all three points with a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in the second game of the tournament, where the result really mattered, the Olympians followed it up with a win over Myanmar in the third game to earn their first ticket to the Paris Olympics.

Once again, the Olympic team was looking to find openings on the flanks. Just like against Kyrgyzstan, the game started well. In the fifth minute, Lee Tae-seok's cross into the box was headed home by Baek Sang-hoon (FC Seoul).

Baek Sang-hoon threatened Myanmar again in the 33rd minute with a mid-range shot, while Uhm Ji-sung (Gwangju FC) and Jung Sang-bin (Minnesota United) both had chances just before halftime. However, Uhm missed the target by a hair's breadth, while Sangbin's effort was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

The Olympic team continued to play a similar attacking style in the second half. They created chances with crosses after breakthroughs from flankers such as Lee Tae-seok and Uhm Ji-sung. The problem, however, was finishing. Despite the fact that the game could have been a multi-goal affair, they were inaccurate in front of goal and maintained a precarious lead until the final minutes.

With an unsatisfactory result on the horizon, Hwang Sun-hong's strategy finally paid off. In the 40th 바카라사이트 minute of the second half, Jeon Byung-kwan (Daejeon Hana Citizen) converted a cross from Jung Sang-bin to widen the gap. Then, in the second minute of stoppage time, Oh Jae-hyuk (Jeonbuk Hyundai) finished off a cross from Hong Yun-sang (Pohang Steelers).

On the day, the Olympic team showed an overwhelming power differential, firing 14 shots on goal in high possession. Although they struggled a bit in the middle of the second half, it was a result that helped them forget about their previous losses to Qatar and Kyrgyzstan.

Meanwhile, the Olympic team will face stiffer opposition at the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar next April. They will need to finish in the top three teams in the tournament to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and a fourth-place finish would force a playoff with the fourth-place African qualifier.
